dragonlady7: self-portrait but it's mostly the DSLR in my hands in the mirror (Default)

Lest you think that I am all talk and no action, I am posting pictures of several of the most recent events.

Some of the pictures don't make much sense but dammit, they're proof or illustration of whatever it was.

And no, this isn't coherent enough to be one of those nice auto-generated Photoshop galleries. No... they're just four random photos. I'd take more and make a cohesive photoessay, but at the moment I have no card reader for my computer and dave's computer is with him enroute to Rochester. So, no coherence for you. Just random pictures.

1. The fish. Cosmo. He is the cutest damn fish ever, and if you do not admit it you are some sort of fish-hating fascist.

SEE? He's PURDY.

2. The bubble nest. LOOK, dammit, I am a GOOD fish-mommy! At least for now. We'll see if the fish-love outlasts the normal attention span. Come on, they're low-maintenance shiny things. How could it go wrong? We hope it won't. For the sake of the Cutest Damn Fish Ever.
I might have cropped this one down too small. But look up at the top of the circle-- those are bubbles, dammit. And there's nothing in that bowl that could make those bubbles except that fish. :)

Bubbles!

3. My hair.
This would make more sense with an After photo. This is the Before photo. But I didn't take an After photo. And as I said, can't get any additional ones off the camera until Dave comes home. So... For the moment, I will provide this as a demonstration of what happens when you are so cheap that you only get your hair cut 3 times in 10 years. (Holy cow, I only just actually did that math. Freaky!)

Also, this is the Worst Picture Ever of me, hence the tight crop. I had no idea I looked so unshapely and sorta lumpy from the back. Guess I should believe Dave when he tells me how I look. Ugh. You know, if I'm going to be this size, can't I even have an ass? But no.
But, well, there's my hair. Now, two inches shorter and a bit cleaner across the bottom.

You may now weep with envy. This is the mileage chart on Dave's car's center console, about halfway through the day on Saturday. We drove from Buffalo to Letchworth to God Knows Where all on tiny little highways with lots of hills and fairly low speeds, averaging probably 45 miles per hour, and his car sort of woke up and said, "optimal conditions? Sweet!"
On the Thruway with cruise control set to 68, he's been averaging 49.9 all summer. He has not been able to get the damn thing up. So over the last 7500 miles or so he's averaged 49.9 mpg.
Well, he finally, finally got it to go up on this trip. It actually continued to rise, and is currently sitting at 50.1, but I present to you photographic evidence of the first switch up. (Look at the bottom for the average.) Looking at the chart of the mileage he was getting (each column is a five-minute average, each yellow star is electricity generated in addition to the mileage) you can see that the car was rocking pretty hard that day.

</lj-cut>
