Dave's all clean-shaven-- have I spoken about the straight razor? Would it be wankerly for me to go and peruse my own archives to determine whether I have?
Most likely, the answers are yes and yes. But I'm going to check.

Oop, I haven't mentioned how that's going. So Dave, after buying all the beauty products he needed, began to regularly mow his face with a straight razor. I'd link to the one he bought but can't remember which link it was. Suffice to say it's a razor, and it's kind of straight. Well. Very straight, in one dimension, though in other dimensions it strikes me as kind of, well, scoop-shaped. Never realized how thick the backs of them were. They are, however, exceedingly manly and I have a terrible desire to shave my legs with one and then put on stockings with a seam up the back and a tailored dress and hang out in a cocktail bar sipping martinis with my made-up cherry-red pouting lips. Don't ask me why.

He's only cut himself once, and that barely broke the skin, and was because he moved unwisely in mid-stroke. So it didn't even bleed. He's having a ball, enjoying it immensely, and yes, is much cleaner-shaven than he has been the entire time I've known him. (Looking back, he was quite scruffy when we met.)

Today his breakthrough was figuring out how to properly shave under his nose. It is a challenging angle, and he's never been able to get it right down to the skin, until today.
So he came down and when I hugged him hello (because i haven't properly seen him in two days now), he took one of my hands and made me pet his upper lip. At first I thought he was using my hand to scratch his nose, which struck me as very weird, but then I realized he was showing off how smooth and clean-shaven he was.
Very.

But I'm in a bit of a sulk now, because he won't make out with me and pretend we're lesbians. Come on! The last time I got to make out with someone with absolutely no stubble, I was 18 and she was 18 and we were in girls' boarding school together. (I'll let you all decide for yourselves whether your worldview would be rosier if I were kidding or not, and leave it up to you to decide.)

Phooey! What does a girl have to do to get make-outs, around here?

Properly, nineteen. If one reads the sentence carefully.

I miss you!! Where are you??

Oh-- just so you know, I am once again threatening to flee the country should W. be re-elected (was going to the first time, but have you any idea how complicated that is? Figured I'd finish college first)-- and am also now certified as a bartender and am looking for a job. So if you still know of any bars, I would gladly flee in your direction and put my recently-acquired marketable skills to use. :)

Should Kerry win, I would not be quite so hell-bent on fleeing, but I still might be talked into it. Have been considering doing graduate work at a uni somewhere in the British Isles (which I still want to call the British Aisles, don't ask me why)...

Anyhow. i miss you terribly. I hope you computer frequently and soon.
