This is basically the rat equivalent of purring. Rats brux (grind their teeth) when they are happy and a side effect of when they vigorously do it is the eye boggle. This is because there’s a muscle that extends from the jaw beyond the rats eye sockets.

it’s true, boggling is normal and healthy lol and it means the rat is happy. after having rats for a few years it doesn’t make me look up anymore, but this rat does do it more obviously then i’m used to seeing (Your picture was not posted)
