Chipped the ice from the gas pump with my gloves, with my credit card watched it melt slow off the rear windshield as I topped off the tank. Got home, made the wipers salute left what I could in the car, carried the rest in one go. I always forget how a haircut turns every shirt into medieval penance; I always forget the rush to the shower. Of course, I haven’t had many haircuts lately that I haven’t done myself, topless in the bathroom, split ends everywhere. I’ll do it again if I need to; God knows what the next six months will bring. Mom texted to make sure I knew I didn’t have to drive home in the fog and I told her I was already safe which was true, and I was. It’s only it’s the gray months again; it’s only the lake is starting to freeze it’s only a long way through but then again it always is. I like to say, sometimes, we have survived weirder, and it’s true and we’ll do it again until the day we don’t and that’s what living is, after all. (Your picture was not posted)
