whuh? ok, they've been messing with the update thingy again. bah!

I am sick. I am sick like a very sick thing. I had a lovely dinner with [ profile] kkattowll and then suddenly i didn't feel so good, and I drove home and bailed out of the car and was sick all over my parents' lawn. I went inside and got me a sickie bucket and lay in bed all night without sleeping at all, leaning over to throw up every 45 minutes or so. That was a great night. I was so cold, so very cold, and my stomach hurt so much, and nothing would come up but my body insisted on trying. I couldn't even keep water down. It was awful. I haven't had a night like that in a very long time.
And I thought of going down the hall and crying to Mom and Dad, but I figured I'm at least 20 years too old for that, so I didn't. Bless his heart, Dad said I should've woken him. I don't know what good it would have done. But I do feel better to have had the option.
Fortunately Roon-the-cat came to visit me and sat on me for a while in his ineffable Roonie way, just around 4:30 am when I was starting to feel really sorry for myself. Roon usually makes things better. So I snuggled with him a while, and got up at 5:30 when Mom got up, and we decided I should not try to catch the train as it was likely to be an unpleasant experience at best. So I spent the day horizontal and unconscious in various parts of the house with various numbers of cats. Even Ghost was unafraid of me-- she could see that I was completely incapable of eating her, so she harassed poor Snick with impunity while I lay draped partly over the arm of the chair telling Snick to be nice. (She thinks Snick's tail is the Best Toy Ever. Snick disagrees, but doesn't stop lashing it. The more she plays with it, the more he gets annoyed; the more annoyed he is, the harder he lashes his tail. Which, I mean, whee! More fun to play with! He's not coping well.)

Around 6 pm today it occurred to Dad to take my temperature. We'd been thinking it was food poisoning, but shouldn't that have eased now that whatever disagreed with me has been forcibly evacuated? I had a fever of 101, so Dad got me some ibuprofin. After taking it, the general aches and pains that had been crippling me all day seem to have eased. Around 8 I started sweating and feeling hyper. I'm still a little unusually perky. I have just succeeded in eating half a bowl of homemade applesauce.
So I have no idea what the hell is wrong with me or if it's wrong anymore or what. But I'm going to try to go to bed soon, and I will try to catch a train home tomorrow. I'll probably live, right?

I wonder whether this is somehow a follow-up of the Killer Headache of Doom that almost prevented me from coming home in the first place, on Monday?

Hm-- the new Update thing seems to be The Same Thing Only Rearranged So You Can't Find Anything. Is that supposed to be Progress? I am such a fogey.

Er, I might go lose that applesauce now. Dammit! It was good! I was so enjoying having a gastronomic system... bugger.
