would someone please explain to my brain
Would someone kindly, please explain to my utterly ridiculous brain that writing a new epic fic, of Harry Potter fanfic, only set in America, and not using any of Rowling's characters, and getting rid of the more eggregiously poorly-considered aspects of her magic, and dealing with entirely different themes, would be missing the point of fanfic?
I've had this urge on and off ever since OOTP, I just thought now might be the time to express my frustration with it.
Edit: my brain wishes it known that it thinks the rest of me is just disgruntled now that I've figured out I'm more likely to have been a Hufflepuff than a Gryffindor.I'm sure no Ravenclaw.
I am also furiously resisting the urge to sort my roller derby league's teams into Houses. Jesus, I shouldn't've reread all the books.
